Awesome 'Model 070' corner sofa set with daybed by Kho Liang Ie for Artifort, 1960s. Kho Liang Ie was born in 1927 in Magelang, Dutch East Indies. After Indonesia's independence in 1949, the family moved to the Netherlands where, after completing his studies at the Institute for Applied Arts in 1954, he became editor and later editor-in-chief of the highly influential design magazine Goed Wonen. From 1958 and onward he devoted himself entirely to furniture design. This set, a great example of the designer's work, has tufted aqua green cushions and white marble side table attached to sofa. In original condition with some visible wear, including ring on marble consistent with its age and use. The sofa with table measures: 102"w x 29"d x 17/28.25". The daybed with out table measures: 74"w x 29"d x 17"h. Set price.
