A remarkable 1950s Italian console with a glass top, produced by La Permanente Mobili Cantu. This piece is inspired by the elegant modernism of Gio Ponti and attributed to designers Paolo Buffa and Giovanni Gariboldi. It features a geometric brass frame and maple construction. Gariboldi's renowned artistry is evident in the stunning painted motif of two white bird with a pearl necklace and a flourishing array of flowers, leaves, and other cornucopia elements. The drawers boast an elegant carved rectangular decorative relief pattern, typical of the era's refined Italian craftsmanship. In original condition with some age-appropriate wear.
