Delicately designed Scandinavian writing desk and chair from Simo Heikkila. Designed in the 1990s and inspired by iconic work of Dutch "De Stijl" founder and luminary Gerrit Rietveld. The Rietveld influence shows itself in the slatted door front that drops down into a desk, and blonde wood frame that is offset with attractively contrasting red lacquered details. A leather rope supports the desk top when opened. The chair has a lacquered red wood frame that is complemented by off white upholstered cushions. Desk measures: 34.375" x 17"/30" x 43". Chair measures: 20.25" x 22.5" x 17.75"/25.75"/35.75". Set is in original condition with some visible wear consistent with its age and use.
