Anders Pehrson White Double 'Supertube' Fluorescent Work Light

Anders Pehrson Style / Ateljé Lyktan / Sweden

Linear enameled white tubular (double) 'Supertube' florescent work light with metal grids by Anders Pehrson. This piece is actually two 50” tubes connected together, suspended by 3 cables with two spiral cords on each side. Swedish design luminary Anders Pehrson (1912-1982) stands as one of the most important European designers of the post-war, Mid-Century period. Born in Gothenburg, Pehrson was the design manager at Philips AB from 1952 to 1963. Then, in 1963 he became the owner and the head of design at Ateljé Lyktan where his vision flourished into a highly influential body of work. This light, one of his most famous creations, is in original condition with some visible wear and some scratching to enamel and ends.
