Magnificent, 19th Century, mahogany shaving mirror. Most likely made in France.This exquisitely crafted piece is noteworthy for its beautifully carved and embellished arms, which enable the glass to be tilted to suit the user. At the time of its production, a mirror of this type was known as a "Miroir Psyché." There is a covered compartment built into the base where one could store buttons, cuff links, and other items. The mirror is in original condition with some age appropriate wear.
