Set of 6 'Kirkestole' Beechwood and Papercord Dining Chairs by Kaare Klint for Fritz Hansen, 1960's
Kaare Klint / Fritz Hansen / Netherlands
Set of 6 'Kirkestole' beechwood and papercord dining chairs by Kaare Klint for Fritz Hansen, 1960's. The “Kirkestol” or "Church Chair" was originally designed for the Bethlehem Church, which was the first Danish church to use chairs instead of benches. The "Kirkestole" was made famous in the Grundtvig’s church, both of which were designed by Kaare Klint’s father, architect Peder Vilhelm Jensen Klint. All in good original condition with wear consistent with its age and use. Other church-slash-dining chairs are available on our site and listed separately.
