'NY' Folding Chair by Takeshi Nii
Takeshi Nii / Fujiei Kogyo / Japan
This folding chair was designed by Japanese designer Takeshi Nii in 1958. He was inspired by the folding form of a traditional director's chair and the simplicity and materials of Danish modern design. It has round black lacquered armrests, a tubular frame and a black canvas sling seat. Only 5' wide when folded up. This chair became part of the permanent MoMA collection in 1970. In original condition with wear that's consistent with its age and use.
