Marsala lounge chair with ottoman by Michel Ducaroy for Ligne Roset. Ottoman measures 30.5" x 32.5" x 13". Retains original tags reused with new upholstery. Frame in original condition with visible wear consistent with its age and use. A loveseat is also available.The sofa is sold. Michel Ducaroy is a French designer born in Lyon in 1925 and graduated from the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Lyon. Ever the innovator, Ducaroy uses new to the 60’s and 70’s materials such as foam, cotton wool, thermoformed plastic, aluminum and stainless steel in his many designs. In 1973, at the Salon des arts menagers in Paris, he presented "Togo", a sofa made entirely of polyester foam without frame or backrest, which earned him acclaim and fame. The sofa is currently still made by Ligne Roset, which to date has sold more than 1 million times.
