"The Hague School" wall mount cabinet with glass doors
P. E. L. Izeren Style / Netherlands
Floating Art Deco / "The Hague School" style display cabinet with two wooden shelves and glass inset doors. Good original condition with minor signs of wear. Original glass. The Hague saw the emergence of a chic and contemporary design style during the Interwar period. The Hague School is an Art Deco off-shoot that highlights the furniture's angular and cubist designs, characteristic of the style, that echoes the era's architecture. The Hague School combined elements of Berlage's rationalism, the conventional Arts and Crafts Movement, Frank Lloyd Wright's interior design, Rietveld, and the avant-garde envelope-pushing of De Stijl movement. The end product was a contemporary commercial design.
