Ate Van Apeldoorn Pine Box Shelves
Ate van Apeldoorn / Houtwerk Hattem / Netherlands
Beautiful, 1970's, Mid-Century Ate van Apeldoorn designed floating pine wall mount shelf with well-crafted square box joints. In 1958, Dutchman Ate van Apeldoorn established his own wood furniture manufacturing company, the "Ate van Apeldoorn meubelmakerij". He specialized in solid wood furniture, primarily made from oak and pine. Van Apeldoorn's style was influenced by the organic design movement, which featured simple, functional forms. His furniture was frequently constructed using traditional wooden joints such as tenons and mortises, rather than nails or screws. Van Apeldoorn remained an independent craftsman throughout his career, refusing to mass-produce his works. He always emphasized the quality of his furniture and the longevity of his materials. This piece is in original condition with some wear and light scratching consistent with age and use. Listed Individually.
