1970's XL Flushmount RAAK R-28/P Shards Lamp

Mid-Century ceiling light from the renowned Dutch manufacturer Raak, circa 1970s. The Model R-28 is a flush mount lamp composed of an enameled black metal cylinder that holds a glass diffuser with thick pieces of aqua colored glass affixed atop it. This construction allows the lamp to emit a unique kind of light that is slightly distorted by the shards and gently diffused by the glass. Throughout its storied history, RAAK has collaborated with several renowned designers and produced a body of work that is now in high demand and that stands as a high point in Mid-Century innovative lighting design.
