Pair of Original Art Deco Bergère Lounge Chairs with Mohair and Heavy Bent Wood Arms
Gebroeders Reens (attr) / Netherlands
A commanding and elegant presence, this substantial Art Deco, so called "Bergère" lounge chair dates to the 1920s–1930s and is a wonderful example of the refined craftsmanship of the period. Attributed to the Gebroeders Reens company. The Bergère design is distinguished by its beautifully realized, steam-bent curved arms—an iconic feature that speaks to the era’s dedication to form and function. Upholstered in original mustard-colored mohair, the chair offers both a luxurious texture and an authentic, period-appropriate color palette. Bold, sculptural, and sophisticated, this piece embodies the streamlined glamour and modernist ideals of early 20th-century design. In very original condition with visible wear, including staining, repaired tear and wear to the fabric. Sold as a pair. Shown with small Art Deco side table (T390)
