Ludwig Mies van der Rohe designed the Barcelona chair in 1929 for the German Pavilion at Barcelona's International Exposition, creating one of the most recognized furniture designs of the 20th century. Gavina produced this example under license from Knoll during their brief authorized manufacturing period in the 1960s. Ottoman has wear consistent with age and use.
