De Stijl Modernist Asymmetric Desk with Sliding Top

This asymmetrical desk, designed in the manner of the instantly recognizable De Stijl movement, features a dark varnished wood frame and a fully functional, white laminate, two-level, multi-part tabletop. The top slides along the frame to accommodate larger spaces, and expose a hidden compartment. The desk's architectural design—evocative of the works of Rietveld, Oud, and Mondriaan—embodies the core Modernist principles of abstraction, clean geometry, and functionality. The almost graphic nature of its composition, with intersecting elements in striking contrast, makes it a highly distinctive example of unmistakably European design.
