After studying sculpture at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague (1949), Jan Snoeck (1927-2018) spent a number of years working as a sculptor in the Netherlands. Over time, his love of clay developed in the early 1960s. Soft shapes and primary colors were hallmarks of Snoeck's art and are on vivid display in this piece. The artist continued to work to till his death alternating between France and the Netherlands. Unsigned Jan Snoeck. The frame shows visible wear with scratching and some chipping. Extremely heavy piece. In original condition with wear consistent with it's age and use.
