Pair of Amsterdam School Lounge Chairs with Jute Velvet Seating & Art Deco Wood Detail
Netherlands
Pair of Amsterdam School/Art Deco lounge chairs with new jute velvet upholstery on decorative oak frames. The Amsterdam School (1910s through about 1930) was a Dutch counterpart to the Art Deco movement where, using beautiful woods like glossy mahogany and strong oak, renowned designers Paul Bromberg, K.P.C. de Bazel, Anton Kurvers, and J.J. Zijffers produced furniture in this highly distinctive style. Their designs encompassed every facet of design such as tables, chairs, and armchairs as well as from larger objects and architecture. This guaranteed that the furniture, bathroom tiles, cabinet doors, and door knobs all contributed to the overall harmony of ones interior. These chairs, a lovely example of the style's esthetics, are in original condition with some wear that is appropriate for its age and use. Priced as a pair.
