Friso Kramer REVOLT Arm Chair with Rare Blue HPL Seating

The REVOLT chairs by Friso Kramer were made using folded sheet steel (U-profile) rather than the standard tubular steel of the era, which made the chair both lighter and stronger. The seat and back were made from Ciranol, a high-pressure laminate (HPL) with a smooth, hard plastic finish that was highly innovative in 1958. This material not only gave the chair its sleek, minimalist appearance, but also made it exceptionally tough and resistant to wear, earning it a reputation for being virtually indestructible. This chair has a rare blue seat and back, and has newly made folded steel armrests, in the same design as the original Ciranol arm rests.
